Oyster lose on grass

Last Sunday Oyster indoor bowls club (based in Whitstable) played a fixture with a difference. 

Purely for fun and the sociability, Oyster travelled to Canterbury Outdoor bowls club for a game on the grass. 

Although the format and rules remain the same, playing on grass is totally different from playing on an indoor carpet. (Although many of our members  do both summer / winter).  

As expected, although Oyster did give them a good game, Canterbury were the victors 130-86, winning on 5 out of the 6 rinks. Our only success, (with an impressive 15-26 win), were the triple team of Anne Holder, Clive Hollingsbee and skip Dave Bartlett. 

Well done all, and hopefully Oyster can reverse the result when these teams meet again soon – on the carpet.
