Fantastic Fours

Oyster bowls held a men’s national fours game last night (7 November).

Our team consisted of Ian Honnor, Dave Ferguson, Charles Bruder and Joe Kelly. They were up against a strong Folkestone side which consisted of Arthur McCaughan, Mick Fisher, Gordon Charlton and Jason Avery. 

All these players have represented the County at the highest level, and the standard of bowls played certainly showed why that was the case.  It was a very tight tactical game which made for great viewing.  The atmosphere for the match was great, with good support for both sides. 

Our Oyster side managed a win, 18-14, in a highly contested match which was played in the best of spirits. 

A quick mention must also go to Jan and Dave Turner for kindly keeping the bar open so both teams could have a drink together after the game, which was much appreciated by all.
