OYSTER WIN Dudley Hoile trophy

After battling through previous rounds playing Home & Away, on Saturday 15 March, our Oyster A teams finally got to play side by side, at Mote Park, in the semi-final of the Dudley Hoile tournament, against a tough team from Bromley. After three hours of some excellent bowling Oyster came out victors 39-26, (23-8, 16-18).
Following a break for lunch Mote Park was reset for the final, between Oyster A and Betteshanger B, led by former Oyster player David Holmes. Oyster took command from the outset, and built up a steady lead, however, after 2 hours Betteshanger had clawed their way back into the game and after 12 ends took the overall lead. From this moment on both rinks fought a very close match, including at least four consecutive dead ends, and there was rarely 5 points between the teams as the clock reached four hours of tense play! Fortunately Oyster had enough in their tank to win the match by just four shots 37-33 (21-10, 16-23).
The team would like to thank all the club supporters who had travelled and stayed all day to witness this fantastic triumph.
The two teams today were:

Paul Causer, Dave Ferguson, Ian Honnor and Joe Kelly.

Tom Attaway, Joe Vanderpeer, Dex Weyand and Charles Bruder.
