Today, Saturday 31 May, Oyster hosted The Angels, from Tongbridge IBC to a home friendly fixture. Throughout the course of the match, there was very little between the two sides, and often the scores were tied. And so it was as we entered the final end of the match. With the scores on Rink 3 tied at 12-12, and the whole match tied at 102-102, it came down to the very last bowl of the afternoon, and if skip Eddie Swan was just 1″ tighter he would have won the match, but it wasn’t to be so Angel took the final point and won the match 102-103. Oyster had a highest winning Rink with Gordon Hayes, Andy Matthews and Glenda Langford winning 22-9. The friendliness extended to social drinks post match, followed by a superb sausage ‘n’ mash dinner supplied by Emma and her team. Well done all.
