The day didn’t start out well when Andy Matthews withdrew from his two finals, leaving the Novice Drawn Pairs uncontested. However, Alan Barden was given the opportunity to play in the Novice Final, which he took. There was some good bowling across all rinks today, including some last end shoot-outs, but the stand out game must have been the one between Sheila and Sandie in the 100 UP Open Singles. As expected, both ladies played some wonderful draw bowls throughout the match, with scores being levelled at 35-35, 70-70 and then again at 100-100 (which is extremely rare). The extra end favoured Sandie who drew the nearest two shots, winning the match 103-107.
