On Friday 31 October, the club held another 4321 social evening, this time to celebrate Halloween. We had 48 players booked in, many of whom turned out in fabulous costumes and make-up. Emma and her team served up a wonderful jacket potato / curry meal to start the evening. The bowls fun began with a traditional ‘spider’ – however naturally this evening it was a ‘pumpkin’. Everyone paid £1.00 to bowl a single bowl at the same time and the person whose bowl finished closest won a prize. This was the best witch, Lee Holland, who won a cuddly pumpkin and some cash, with the rest of the cash being donated to Les Hoar’s charity The Alzheimer’s Society.
The main event then took place with 16 triples teams playing 3 other teams at random over 12 ends. To make the evening a little more spooky, the games were played in reduced lighting to the accompaniment of halloween music. In second place, and silver medalists, were the ‘Creepy Crawlies‘ (Daphne Dillon, Helen Parry and David Whamond) who scored 77 shots, followed by our gold medalists the ‘Graveyard Shift‘ (Max Smith, Shirley Kendall and Wayne Diprose), who achieved 87 shots!!

We couldn’t have a fancy dress evening without some ‘best dressed’ prizes, although it was difficult to judge because of the amazing costumes and make up some of you took the time to create, but in the end the Best Dressed Man went to Geoff Holland, (pictured below with Lee), and the Best Dressed Lady was Jan Pamphilon, (featured below). They were awarded the best dressed Halloween bottles ever! (Thanks JJ).

Here are some other randoms from the evening. Thank you all for making this another memorable evening.

The Juniors held a small Halloween party the next day during their training session!
