On Wednesday 3 December, Oyster hosted the annual Oyster Men v KCIBA match in memory of club founder Peter Newman. Club President Roger Benneworth welcomed County President Trevor Glenn and the match commenced. We played 18 ends of triples, over 6 rinks, with each side winning 3 rinks each. However, the County pipped Oyster by just 2 shots, 88-90. Our highest winning rink went to Mervyn Gulvin, Ian Burton and Alan Cornfoot (16-11). The home side was Captained by Brian Watson.
Following a drink and a meal (thanks Emma & Co.) the Memorial Shield was presented to Trevor by Roger. Congratulations to all who were involved in making this annual event, the success that it was.
