Classical Cream Tea

Last Sunday, 19 April, saw some elegant ladies and dapper gentlemen, including a James Bond look-a-like, take part in the inaugural ‘Classical Cream Tea’ event at the club. 48 bowlers battled it out in 8 keenly fought triples matches accompanied by a varied classical music soundtrack. This was followed by a delicious traditional cream tea with sandwiches, cakes and scones which seemed to be enjoyed by all.

Congratulations go to Paul Morris, Jon White and skip Maxine Probart, aka Team Schubert, who finished the afternoon in 2nd place (6-17), and to our winners Tony Clark, Pam Moore and skip Gordon Hayes, aka Team Britten (15-3).

Many thanks to all those who attended and making it a really enjoyable afternoon. Sincere thanks are also extended to the organisers Jan and Adrian Judd and Emma Diprose, Dave Bartlett for acting as MC and running the bar and Rita Marsh and Alison Keen for their delicious homemade cakes. Also, many thanks to those who helped to clear up at the end of the day.
