The Oyster Juniors were started in 1996 by Ron & Brenda Broadbridge, John Moss, Jacqueline Harvey and Bob Stagg. There has been great success with Sian Gordon and Stephanie Crates being picked to play for England.
This section is now being run by Coaches Bernard Marsh and Wayne Diprose.
All our coaches are DBS checked, and we welcome any child from the age of 8 - 18 to come along.

Junior coaching sessions run from 5.30pm to 7.30pm on Saturday evenings. Each session costs £2 per child, plus £5 annually for membership. All equipment will be supplied.
The sessions are run by qualified, DBS checked coaches, occasionally assisted by other club members and supported by the parents.
Sessions start with instruction for beginners and gradually work up to competition standard and comprise of basic training, skill development and match experience games. There is also some competitive play including the opportunity to join with adult members in matches against visiting clubs once they feel ready.
The junior section ranges from ages 8 to 18 (or at the coach’s discretion). At the age of 18 the junior members become adult members and are no longer able to take part in junior activities.
Beginners of any age will undertake 4 weeks of training to bring them up to a standard where they can become a member. During training there is no specific dress code although the ideal would be white collared t-shirt and black trousers. Once they become members, advice will be given with regards to equipment and uniform purchases.
It is a great social event for children of all ages and abilities with the added benefit of a bar to enable the parents to sit and watch.
